Second day of the Exhibition: Master-classes and lectionsRelease date: September 17, 2008 The morning of the second business day was showered with events. Just imagine, the history of the global calligraphy art was unveiled to numerous visitors during a series of lectures and master classes run one after another with 15-minute breaks.
![]() Master-class by Hans Maierhofer Hans Mairhofer, a well-known calligraphy writer from Germany gave a big picture of the two-thousand-year track record of the European calligraphy art and provided all visitors with comprehensive overview of the Fracture Type – being a Gothic type writing, which was destined to become a national typesetting writing of publications issued in Germany. ![]() Master-class by Hans Maierhofer Professor Pavel Afanasievich Semchenko ran a brief excursion into the history of global calligraphy. His narration was enriched with demonstration of marvelous works that helped all visitors get a deeper understanding of the major milestones of this most beautiful of all arts. ![]() Lection of Pavel Semchenko ![]() Lection of Shen Peifang Traditionally crowded and thundered with applause, these lectures and master-classes do attract numerous people willing to take part in the discussions. We believe, this is the best proof of the fact that calligraphy writing has not fallen into oblivion, but – like the Phoenix from that legend – was given a fresh breath of air to get born anew.
