The calligraphers made a profound work creating the single handwritten copy of the Russian Constitution and made a huge contribution to the treasury of Russian culture. The International Exhibition of Calligraphy brings great social significance for development of spirituality and culture of the Russian society...
I am pleased with the fact that St Petersburg has become the venue for the International exhibition of Calligraphy which is an important event for the city and Russia in general. The noble aim of the project, restoration of the art of calligraphy in Russia, deserves respect and participation of everyone concerned about the development of Russian culture.
I would like to congratulate you with a new project launched and thank you for caring about the future cultural development of our common multinational Motherland!
Calligraphy is a high, beautiful and traditional Russian art, which restoration will improve cultural and spiritual values of Russia. I welcome your initiative and wish you successful exhibition!
On behalf of the St Petersburg State University I would like to greet the organizers and participants of the International exhibition of Calligraphy who have taken the initiative in forming a healthy and beautiful society and bringing this social project into life.
The first was word. A written, fine executed word conveying a stroke of genius is a true miracle which needs to be restored both in Russia and the entire world. I believe you have stepped a long and challenging path. However, the most important thing here is that children started studying calligraphy at a very early age, at the kindergarten...
I would like to express my cordial thanks to the organizers of the first International Exhibition of Calligraphy for their courage, nobility of the idea, and patriotism. Realization of the project demonstrates the important role of Russia as a highly educated country with the great culture, as a country where people appreciate such concepts as innovation, arts patronage and spirituality...
It is necessary to remind the society that beauty is created by human being hands. First in the whole world International exhibition of Calligraphy is an outstanding opportunity for us to get closer to such a unique art of writing and take a pen ourselves...
I think that the first International Exhibition of the best world calligraphic schools indicates the development of the national morale as the community of intelligent and educated people.
Let me congratulate all the exhibitors, organizers and enthusiasts of the project International exhibition of Calligraphy on its active realization and wish good luck in our joint work...
I am sure the exhibition will become a starting point for revival of an abandoned art of writing in our country, and forming of a beautiful and healthy society. Undoubtedly, the project is a breakthrough, a great stride forward not only for the MVK Company but, hopefully, for our multinational state as well...
I would like to greet all the participants and organizers of the project Calligraphy: the Art of Excellence. It is pleasant Rossiyskaya Gazeta is the media sponsor of this prominent show and one of the originators of the first Museum of Calligraphy. We rely on constant progress of these undertakings and count on objective and effective networking and interaction between all the interested people.
I am glad to greet the organizers and participants of the International exhibition of Calligraphy . It is a pity there is no call for the outstanding art of calligraphy. It is a pity many young people read the books on-line and do not know the delight of neat handwriting and smell of fresh printers ink...
Calligraphy is an ancient mystery and wisdom, the basis of languages and the starting point in perception of the world. Calligraphy can be compared with music: simple signs – letters, notes – fill a blank sheet of paper with the world of harmony, philosophy and beauty. Only gifted persons can master these arts, but everyone is able to admire and understand them.
I would like to congratulate you with the project launching! I am sure it will be a success. I was glad to be invited to the exhibition. At the presentation I noticed how concerned and enthusiastic the initiators are about the project. I believe those are two stimuli to progress. It is great when businessmen care about cultural aspect of life, launching the projects which would be interesting for the organizers as well as the audience.
The exhibition which MVK brought from St. Petersburg is a unique event in the cultural life of Moscow. We wish the organizers one more successful project!..
The International exhibition of Calligraphy ready to come about at our Museum is an unusual event. We have never held any calligraphic exhibitions. Calligraphy which has been developing for years is still a university discipline taught and studied at our University. I am sure that all students are going to enjoy the exhibition.
I am sure the International exhibition of Calligraphy will stimulate the intellectual potential of the nation and contribute to accomplishing the strategic aims of Russia, the restoration of spirituality, social trust and peace.
I would like to thank the project?s initiator, Director General of MVK International Exhibition Company, Aleksey Shaburov, and all the participants of calligraphic project!
I am sure that such-like projects originating from the bottom of the generous initiator?s heart are the evidences of the spiritual restoration of Russia.
My congratulations on the project?s beginning! I know that all the projects MVK International Exhibition Company has ever launched are exciting. For example the polar flight on Chkalov? s route and the Mobile Polar museum. This new project strikes me as unconventional as well.
I wish the participants, organizers and partners of the International exhibition of Calligraphy success in promotion of the art of calligraphy! The works of the artists participating in the project can touch the hearts of the audience.
After many years of calligraphic studies I am surprised and glad this art is becoming popular. Methodology and complex approach of the MVK team impress me. This approach will restore the calligraphic traditions of the past. The International calligraphic project is significant for education for MVK initiative holds up the historic tradition...
The calligraphic exhibition may strike the audience as an unusual and even exotic event. However, it will broaden the minds of students and intellectuals. Computers can’t preserve the social heritage which has been accumulated for centuries. People tend to lose the handwriting skills which have been forming for ages. Therefore, human mentality and biopotential start to regress. I was glad to hear about the International exhibition of Calligraphy which will preserve and restore the traditions of this beautiful art.
Prosperity of Russia depends on education of the younger generation, Russian people, their intelligence, happiness and health. We must think about the future nowadays. A human mind can be improved through drilling the skills typical for human beings only. Calligraphy is one of such basic skills improving the fine motor skills and comprehension of calligraphic texts. Thereby, a person trains motor skills which are characteristic of a human being only.
I am sure, the International exhibition of Calligraphy organized at the I.E. Repin St Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, will discover the Universe of Beauty and Harmony and new talented artists, the coming Academicians-calligraphers.
The art of calligraphy has been neglected recently. The exhibition will present the origins of Russian script, development of visual art and knowledge about the world and its diversity. Development of writing stimulated development of the first brave travelers’ itineraries, plans and maps of the newly discovered lands and adventures.
Every artist and calligrapher taking a brush, pencil or any other writing instrument in his hand needs a certain elegancy of craft. Calligraphy is a part of work of any artist. My students are so much fond of calligraphy that they often neglect other art disciplines in favor of calligraphy taught by Petr Chobitko. The students like both the lessons of font and calligraphy.
The MGIMO Alumni Association has always welcomed the initiatives and undertakings of its graduates, and still the project launched by Aleksey Shaburov has enthused us particularly. Calligraphy is not merely an ancient school of neat handwriting, but an outstanding kind of art which is not very popular nowadays
No doubt, this project deserves the most careful attention as it is both an original, cognitive and interesting for many petersburgers exhibition, and it is also a means which may help revive the lost art of calligraphy.
One of my friends who I contacted by emails told me about this exhibition, explained how important it is for me as a type design to meet people who are professional and talent and encourage me to participate with some artworks. So, Thanks for All of participations and all people who will take a chance to see my artworks and I would like them to pray for peace in our country.
What is the subjective understanding of the importance of calligraphy? We learn how writing arose, how it had been flourishing. Water, paints, paper. With the help of these treasures calligraphers create beauty.
I would like to greet all the participants and organizers of the project Calligraphy: the Art of Excellence. The project will improve the cultural component of the society and contribute to forming of a healthy nation.
I gladly welcome the renaissance of Russian calligraphy and hope that with God being our helper we will restore this art and thus make benefit to the Russian society!
Writing is a great idea. It makes language visible and enduring. Turning sound into letters, as we know, was a milestone in civilization. Letters became magic, but that was only the beginning. Letters turned into utility for mankind. They turned into art. That is our concern now. What happens when letters turn into art?
When my wife, calligrapher Andrea Wunderlich, told me that she received the offer to take part in the International Calligraphy Exhibition in St. Petersburg I told her to go!
Civic pride and joy fills the heart of any person, who sees the outstanding samples of printed art or calligraphy of his country exhibited abroad, the feelings akin to those which a person experiences when looking at the proudly flying national flag. I am sure that every person puts his heart into what he writes in his native language.
The International Calligraphy Exhibition is playing the major role of not only promoting this Art in Russia but also imbibing calligraphic styles & cults from around the world. It is a rewarding experience to attend these kinds of well-organized events.
The idea of a calligraphic exhibition arranged by a professional exhibition company is great. It is a good chance to unite the power and experience of professional exhibition managers and the forgotten masters of calligraphy whose works for a long time have not been exhibited and who, in quiet seclusion, are creating calligraphic scripts.
The International Exhibition of Calligraphy is an expected event in the contemporary Russia. It is today when we lack beauty, spirituality. In our today’s rational and material society we wish to go back to our roots and traditions. I am sure that here lies the essence of Russia’s revival.
I heartily welcome the initiators and participants of the International Exhibition of Calligraphy! The project creates fine opportunities to meet the masters from around the world and Russia, exchange experience, compare one’s mastership with other artists and estimate one’s creative activity.
A world-known orientalist, Director of Hermitage M. Piotrovsky called calligraphy “A model of a beautiful world”. And this definition fully coincides with my emotional feeling given to me by the hand of God.
I treat this Calligraphy project as a historical event. In fact the project aims at restoring the part of culture which is almost forgotten in the computerized, pragmatic reality of our routine life.
Ukrainian Academy of Press (Lvov) is greeting and supporting a wonderful project – International exhibition of Calligraphy .Calligraphy should not be a kind of art for professionals, for it is the most ancient and the youngest, most democratic and elite art. Calligraphy is free from age and professional limits. Children, adults and elderly people can succeed in it.
As Frenchman, I am very proud to be invited as a professional calligrapher to your Calligraphic Exhibition in Russia. I have to congratulate the Comitee for having thought a such wonderful project.
It is great that the project demonstrating the beauty of handwriting and lettering started up. The more beauty we see the more beauty we want to create. I appreciate the historic and significant project of the International exhibition of Calligraphy .
The current century is often referred to as “the age of information”. However, human beings often lack that very information. The most important and fundamental one. The information which comprises the past and the present and thus preserves the continuity of the process.
A handwritten phrase is the materialization of thoughts, a bridge between the inward and outward man. Any written word is the construction of the outward, visible world and the materialized image of an inward man. I support the project and believe it will help us go back to our roots and will enlarge the number of people considering calligraphy to be one more bright color on the palette of fine arts.
The project is significant both for the professionals and common people standing apart of the calligraphy. It touches upon various aspects of spiritual and everyday life of a human being.
I think the International exhibition of Calligraphy will be interesting for the artists, designers and students of art institutes and everyone inspired by art. I am sure the project will be successful for the beauty of a handwritten text is clear for everyone despite the language it is written in.
Initially I would like to thank the organizers for sending me an invite to participate in such a prestigious exhibition dedicated to calligraphy. I am truly proud to be a part of such a grand event. I am sure that it will be an absorbing experience to see works of international calligraphers, each influenced by the unique style of its creator & the culture of the calligrapher’s native land.
As an artist and grateful spectator I am anticipating the feast for the eyes and the opportunity to enjoy the fine works of prominent masters, their artistic and pedagogical achievements, for the Project will also introduce the works of our students.
I am glad to welcome the organizers and participants of this remarkable project. In the century of high technologies, when fuss and time shortage deprive people from self-analysis, the art of calligraphy can be a true salvation.
I would like to thank MVK International Exhibition Company for undertaking a distinguished and large-scale mission to organize and hold the first International exhibition of Calligraphy in Russia and in the first Calligraphic Museum in the world.
The aim of the project is to restore the interest in this almost forgotten kind of art and putting emphasis on calligraphy again for it is an important aspect of a person?s education. Calligraphy improves fine motor skills, attention, memory, self-control, and many other innate skills.
I am greeting the participants and initiators of the Calligraphy project. At the presentation it became clear that this is a project of large dimensions. My impressions of the event are wonderful, it is like theatre when the lights are out one can still hear the violins playing in the orchestra pit. Waiting for a miracle is mesmerizing. The start of your project was very powerful as I hope will be the result. Thank you for your ideas!
I am proud to participate in the International exhibition of Calligraphy . I am fascinated by the fact that MVK International Exhibition Company didn’t settle for Russian calligraphy but actively attracts the lovers of beautiful handwriting from across the world. Just imagine: the works of Eastern and Western calligraphers in one and the same exhibition hall, with each of them representing a certain genre and trend.
It is great that the exhibition has gathered calligraphers from many countries together and represents writing and lettering of various cultures. I wish such a wonderful meeting of people fallen in love with the art of calligraphy was not spontaneous but became a tradition in sharing experience and news from the world of calligraphy.
The Chinese calligraphy has at least four features: efficiency, gloat, parenting of moral qualities, lengthening of life. Calligraphy teaches not only how to write hieroglyphs (just writing hieroglyphs is not yet calligraphy)...
I have to congratulate the Commitee for having such a wonderful project! The project gives people in the world a nice opportunity to see the beauty of calligraphy. Calligraphers reveal their feelings through the tip of the brush used in calligraphy...
The International exhibition of Calligraphy gives a nice opportunity to see and sense the inner thoughts and feelings drawn by outstanding unique calligraphers, artists and authors. Where can I find those words to thank the organizers and participants of this coming miracle named Calligraphy.
As MVK, it is foresight to organize a worldwide calligraphy grand meeting the calligraphy is an ancient art. Nowadays, although circumstances have changed with the time, the condition that calligraphy art could rely on to develop prosperously have changed a lot. But, calligraphy art?s lasting vitality lies in its ability to keep pace with the times. Therefore, to initiate and prosper calligraphy will achieve people’s support who deeply love tradition.
We congratulate the initiators, participants of the Museum of Calligraphy and maintenance team of this historic Project! We would like to thank our colleagues for this educatory Idea which will be developed by other cities of Russia, and the countries of the CIS which appreciate the Old Russian script...
