Olga Varlamova
Biography I was born in Leningrad in 1985. In 2002 I graduated from the class of architecture, St. Petersburg lyceum 190 and entered the Faculty of easel and book graphics of Stieglitz St. Petersburg state Academy of Art and Industry. I, as well as my fellow-students, have studied calligraphy with Petr Chobitko for three years. Since 2005 I have studied calligraphy at Petr Chobitko’s school of calligraphy. In 2005 I tried my hand at teaching, I was invited to teach calligraphy at the Sunday-school at Saint Spirit Monastery in Borovichi. And I still work for this school. In 2005 I participated in the Font exhibition, and in 2007 I took part in the Image and Letter exhibition which was held first at the White Hall of Stieglitz St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry, and then at the exhibition hall of the St. Petersburg subsidiary of the Artists’ Union. In 2008, the book of Az Buki I worked on as an illustrator and a calligrapher in summer 2006 came off the press. I am working on my graduation paper (the subject is Dante Alighieri Divine Comedy) and start teaching calligraphy in the Lestvitsa cultural and educational center at the Blessed Virgin’s All Mourners’ Joy Icon Cathedral (St. Petersburg). | Works: |
