Moscow will celebrate the Days of Slavonic writing from May 17 to June 1, 2010.

There are many interesting and educating events on the Slavonic culture, but the one made by the Contemporary museum of calligraphy stands far out. It is all about the history and progress of the Slavonic writing: from birch bark manuscripts to contemporary calligraphy art.

From May 22 to 23, 2010 our Museum will open a special exposition “Slavonic writing. Origin, history and progress”. We also welcome you to live performances and presentations on traditional Russian handwritings and lettering styles.

On these days our visitors will have the rare opportunity to learn about Slavonic script, Russian uncial, half-uncial, cursive and ligature, and try their hand in writing with a pen.

During these days we are open 10 am to 9 pm.

The schedule of live performances and presentations is available at the websites of the Contemporary museum of calligraphy and the International exhibition of calligraphy.
